Bhubaneswar: In a unique display of devotion, miniature artist L. Ishwar Rao from Gopinathpur in Jatni has crafted what he claims is the smallest Ganesh idol this festive season. The sculpture, carved on a pencil tip, stands just 0.5 cm tall and took him nearly eight hours to complete.
Sharing his thoughts, Rao said his aim is not only to showcase his skill but also to spread Lord Ganesha’s spiritual message. “Every year, I dedicate my craft to Lord Ganesha. This time, I challenged myself to create the smallest idol possible. Through it, I convey my wishes of peace, prosperity, and happiness to all on the occasion of Ganesh Puja,” he said.
Rao, known locally for his exceptional miniature art, has been presenting innovative creations every year on special occasions. Though he has sculpted idols on pencil tips before, this year’s work stands out as the tiniest he has ever produced.
