Anandapur/Ghasipura: Kumar Purnima celebrations turned into mourning as a 17-year-old girl died in a wall collapse Monday at Madanpur village under Ramachandrapur police limits in Keonjhar district. The deceased was identified as Seemarani Chakra, daughter of Sarat Chakra.
Police registered a case and launched an investigation after sending the body for post-mortem. The incident occurred when the girl had gone to a neighbour’s house to apply ‘Mehendi’ on her hand ahead of Kumar Purnima celebrations. When she reached there, a woman in the house asked her to come later.
However, while she was returning, a rain-soaked wall of the neighbour’s house collapsed on her. Family members rescued her in critical condition and rushed her to the Anandapur sub-divisional hospital, where the doctors pronounced her brought dead.
