Nayagarh: Police rescued a girl from four alleged kidnappers following a brief chase on Chandibasta road in Odisha’s Nayagarh district, a source said Saturday.
The accused persons were identified as Raghunath Pradhan, Santosh Dora, Kishore Chandra and Jitendra Biswal.
Police had detained the suspects at the time of filing this report.
According to the source, four miscreants Friday kidnapped the girl using a car in Rajpatana area, while she was returning home on her bicycle.
When the miscreants were heading towards Chandibasta area, they were intercepted by Nayagarh Sadar Police, who were already present there based on intelligence input, the source added.
Police have launched an investigation into the alleged kidnapping bid.
