Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Sunday unveiled plans to transform Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur into digital hubs, aiming to position the state as a leading innovation destination.
The initiative is part of Vision Odisha 2036 and Developed India 2047. Speaking at the inaugural two-day National Entrepreneurship Summit – TiECon Bhubaneswar 2025, Majhi urged entrepreneurs to partner in Odisha’s growth journey, citing the state’s strengths in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), chip design, blockchain, and AI research.
“Once you come here, it will feel like your second home. Together, we can make Odisha the industrial capital of eastern India,” he said.
Organised by TiECon Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with the state government, the event brought together over 500 delegates from India, Singapore, UAE, and Sri Lanka.
Highlighting Odisha’s pioneering AI initiatives, Electronics & IT, Health & Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling said, “We are the first state with our own AI Policy and have allocated Rs 25 crore for the Odisha AI Mission in the 2025–26 budget.”
He also highlighted the Odisha Semiconductor Policy and the MoUs signed to establish a Fintech Centre in Bhubaneswar.
TiE Bhubaneswar president AK Mohanty said, “This summit has showcased Odisha’s potential and laid the groundwork for global partnerships.”
The grand closing ceremony was graced by E&IT Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, TiE Global chairman Murali Bukkapatnam, TiE Bhubaneswar president AK Mohanty, Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera, along with top industry leaders, global entrepreneurs, and government officials.
