Odisha weather April 8: IMD issues Yellow Warning for these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Saturday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 9: The weather agency issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for several districts of the state.

As per the Yellow Warning, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Angul districts.

Apart from that, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Cuttack and Nayagarh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of April 9 to 8.30 AM of April 10: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the several districts of the state.

IMD issued a Yellow Warning for Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next 3-4 days and a rise by 2-3 degrees Celcius thereafter is predicted at a few places across the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda and Rourkela while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nuapada district, IMD bulletin informed.
