Jaipur, Sep 4 (IANS) An Ola cab driver was arrested here on Friday for allegedly molesting a Finnish girl, Rajasthan Police said.
The girl, an intern in a company, filed the complaint at Shastri Nagar police station here , alleging that the cab driver tried to molest her while she was travelling from a hotel to the paying guest accommodation where she resides.
“The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday. The complaint was filed by the girl later in the day and we have arrested the driver under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code relating to assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty. Interrogation of the driver is presently going on,” a police official told IANS.
Meanwhile, Ola in a statement said: “We have suspended the services of the said driver from the Ola platform within minutes of receiving feedback from the customer this afternoon and have shared this information with her as well.
“We will continue to offer all support and additional information required by the customer and the authorities, to investigate this further.”
