Cuttack: A man died while another sustained critical injuries after the rider lost control over the motorcycle they were on and rammed into a roadside wall near Athanga Trinath temple on Kandarpur-Machagaon Road here late Monday.
Kandarpur police officials said the body of Vivekananda Das (23), a resident of Badadadhilo village, has been sent for autopsy. The pillion rider Jyotiranjan Sathua (20) of Padmapur, who sustained critical injures, was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital where his condition is stated to be critical. Both belong to Jagatsinghpur district.
The mishap took place when the duo was en-route to village on a new motorcycle after returning from Cuttack. “The biker lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the temple wall. The collision was so intense that the duo suffered multiple injuries,” an eyewitness said.
Locals informed the PCR personnel who rushed the profusely bleeding duo to SCB where Das was pronounced dead on arrival.
