Puri: With the arrest of another accused, the total number of people arrested in connection with blank firing in the Melody pandal during Ganesh puja rose to five Wednesday.
The Town police have registered a criminal case after a video of firing went viral on social media.
The police, after identifying the youths in the video, arrested hotelier Narayan Sahu and his three private security guards who were from Uttar Pradesh.
The cops arrested the hotelier’s son, Monday, and forwarded him to the court of SDJM which remanded him in custody after rejecting his bail plea.
Police said one person involved in the incident is still absconding.
Narayan Sahu is involved in dozen criminal cases. He runs a hotel near Swargadwar beach and a foreign liquor shop said police.
Sahu had joined the BJD just before the last general election.
