Bhubaneswar, June 19: With only 16 days left for the biggest sporting event—22nd Asian Athletics Championships to be held in the city , a television commercial video showing the State’s rich culture and heritage for the mega sports competition was released here Monday. The five-day long championship is scheduled to begin at Kalinga Stadium from July 5. Expressing his happiness, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared the video on social networking site and wished all the all the athletes for the championship. “Glad to share a beautiful video of 22nd Asian Athletics Championships; Wish @Bhubaneswar2017 all success #Orissa2017,” the CM tweeted. The four minute video made by filmmaker padmashree Nila Madhab Panda is shot in some of the best tourist destinations of the state featuring the rich cultural heritage. The video begins with the close up tiger faces, which smoothly switch into an athletic— throwing his disc which moves from Konark temple to Puri temple. The beauty of Chilika, divine beaches of the Puri and Chandrabhaga, Bhitarkanika are portrayed in a splendid way. The video will be shown as a TV commercial till the championship. When asked about video, Panda said, “I am very happy that I am a part of a big event which is going to happen for the first time in the city. Through this commercial we have tried to show the some of the best attractive locations and tourist destination for which the state is known. Since it is a sporting event we have mixed sports with culture and heritage.
