Cuttack, Jan 14: Orissa were knocked out of the National Senior Women’s T-20 cricket tournament despite a four wicket victory over Gujarat in Pune, Wednesday. Orissa finished with eight points from four matches with two victories and two losses.
Orissa overhauled the 89-run victory target set by Gujarat in 19.4 overs for the loss of six wickets. Swagatika Rath (21, 19b, 3×4) continued her splendid form throughout the tournament and played a cameo. SL Pujare (3/14) was the pick of the bowler scalping three wickets.
Earlier opting to bat first, Gujarat scored 88 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated over. DJ Patel (41, 53b, 2×4) batted well for Gujarat.
