Bhubaneswar, May 16: The boys’ and the girls’ team of hosts Orissa finished runners-up in their respective categories of the 24^th Sub-Junior National Baseball Championship, which concluded at the Kalinga Stadium here Saturday.
In the boys’ category, Orissa were thrashed 0-5 by Maharashtra to finish second. Earlier the hosts entered the final as their opponent Chandigarh were disqualified due to overage issues. Maharashtra blanked Chhattisgarh 2-1 to enter the title clash.

In the girls segment, Orissa were edged out 1-2 by Chhattisgarh in the final. Earlier Orissa had beaten Delhi 2-1, while Chhattisgarh drubbed Maharashtra 14-0 to enter the summit clash.
