Although many star technicians in the Hindi film industry are Oriyas, Oriya actors are rarely seen in Hindi films. The good news is that Cuttack girl Riyana Sukla has worked in the recently released Ejaz Ahmed film ‘Life Ki Aisi Ki Taisi’. She was cast opposite Muzahid Khan in the film. It was Riyana’s third Hindi venture after ‘Mr MBA’ and ‘Lucknowi Ishq’. The beautiful lady is also the lead actor of the upcoming Oriya movie ‘Tu Acchu Ta Mu Achhi’.
Interacting with Sunday Post, Riyana said, “The film is a satirical comedy. The plot revolves around the hero who wants to marry me. But the problem is he is a poor man without much means. However, he doesn’t want to lose me either and so plans to earn huge money overnight. Along with his friends, he tries to loot the wealth of a corrupt politician from the bank. The bank episode continues for a long time in the film and finally the hero manages to fulfil his dream of marrying me.”
Asked if the film helped shape her career, the actress said:?“Yes, thanks to the film I have bagged two other Hindi film offers so far. One of them is ‘Ayodhya mein Lanka’, while the other one’s title is yet to be decided. Back in Orissa too, I have become popular. Recently I was invited to judge a beauty contest and performed and awarded in another big award ceremony held in Bhubaneswar.”
