Bhubaneswar: Applicants for the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination have urged Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the OSSC chairman to intervene following widespread technical glitches encountered during the online application process.
According to aspirant Sunil Kumar Mishra, the OSSC CGL application portal has faced repeated technical glitches, including website loading failures, login errors, difficulties in uploading documents, and interruptions during form submission. These problems have reportedly prevented many eligible candidates from completing their applications within the prescribed deadline.
A major concern raised by applicants is the deduction of the Rs 500 application fee from their bank accounts, even when the application process remained incomplete or unsuccessful due to portal errors. Candidates claim that despite receiving payment confirmation, their applications were not submitted, resulting in financial loss and significant mental distress, especially among unemployed aspirants.
Another aspirant, Subhrajit Sahoo, has pointed out the absence of an ‘edit’ or ‘correction’ option on the application portal, making it difficult to rectify inadvertent errors—some of which arose from system-related failures rather than mistakes by the applicants.
In a representation submitted to the authorities, candidates have demanded an immediate resolution of technical issues, the introduction of an edit/correction facility, and an extension of the application deadline to ensure fairness and equal opportunity. They have also sought appropriate measures for the refund or adjustment of fees deducted due to failed submissions.
Thousands of candidates across the state are reportedly affected by these issues and are hoping for swift intervention from the government and OSSC to ensure that deserving aspirants are not excluded from the recruitment process.
