Bhubaneswar: OUAT will be sending students from different disciplines for international trainings under the ambitious World-Bank funded IDP-NAHEP program. The first batch of students will be sent to International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines on October 11, 2019 by Arun Kumar Sahoo, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries and ARD and Higher Education.
Under Institutional Development Plan (IDP), the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) revolves around enhancing the educational relevance and quality. IDP would be linked to performance and quality enhancement.
These universities would become a model for guiding the ICAR to introduce reforms in other agricultural universities. It is also proposed to build up a strong faculty across all agricultural universities to greatly enhance the quality of agricultural education in India. This change is proposed to be brought through institutional development of agricultural universities in India.
