Bhubaneswar: Suravi 2023, the three-day State Level Children’s Day Festival, concluded at the Unit-9 Government Boys’ High School here, Thursday. Attending the event on the last day, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that our children have immense talent, asking the students present there to refine their thought processes.
During the event, more than 3,549 students were given Odia Bhasa Brutti Puraskar (Odia language scholarship award) for securing high marks in Odia in the board exam. “Each student got Rs 5,000 and the top five students were felicitated by Chief Minister. They were Subhasmita Das, Naina Pradhan, Prabhasini Mishra, Subhankar Patabandha and Dibyasha Palei,” informed a government official.
Notably, the award was launched to motivate students of the state to pursue Odia language and culture more seriously. School and Mass Education Minister Sudam Marndi also attended the concluding ceremony. He said that 5T transformation of schools is a high point for the state government. “The School and Mass Education department has been focusing on 5C: connect, collaborate, contribute, create, and celebrate for the holistic development of children.
Let’s pledge for the physical, mental and intellectual growth of children,” said Marndi. “The four clubs introduced for class IX and X students from the current academic session, Jigyansa, Sahitya Srujani, Kaushali, and Kridangan cover a wide spectrum of disciplines and will ensure well-rounded educational experience and development of the students,” he said. As many as 2,000 students and 1,200 teachers participated in the festival. Students visited several monuments during the festival and held a shadow session of the United Nations along with other cultural programme.
