Berhampur: During a stage performance a group of people pelted stones at Odia comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy — also known as Papu Pom Pom — at Sorala village under Chikiti block of Ganjam district, a source said Sunday.
According to the source, the comic actor was able to save himself from a stone hurled at him as it went past close to him and hit a digital display. Another stone pelted at the stage hit a person standing near Papu.
Notably, Papu went to the village to perform on occasion of Maha Shivratri Saturday.
For safety issues, Papu aborted the show midway and left.
The exact reason that led to violence at the show is yet to be determined and further details are awaited.
