Bhubaneswar/Nayagarh: The State Forensic Laboratory, Bhubaneswar has been unable to determine the semen-stain found on the frock of slain five-year-old girl ‘Pari’ of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district.
The authorities of the state forensic laboratory conducted the chemical examination of the frock and a jute sack but failed to determine the group of the semen and blood stains as it has been spoiled. This was stated in a report submitted by the laboratory.
The report adds that blood and semen stains could not be detected in the exhibits submitted before it for examination. The SFL report has led to the fear that it may not be admitted as evidence in the court. Legal experts claimed that such a report will help the accused get acquitted from the court.
The local police had recovered skeletal remains, one frock and a GI wire wrapped in a gunny bag from the backyard of the minor girl’s house, 10 days after she had gone missing. The police had stored the items for many days before producing them in court.
Now, questions are being raised as to how the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the murder case, will prove that the semen belongs to Saroj Sethy who has been arrested by the SIT in connection with the case. The SIT started its probe in the case from December 1.
