Bhubaneswar: Juvenile emerged victorious in the 3rd U-19 HIL Rameswar Cup by beating hosts Rameswar by two wickets.
Juvenile had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rameswar’s Prakash Kumar Barik (62 runs off 49 balls) and Manitej Mohanty (35 runs off 36 balls) came handy with the bat as the hosts put on 220 runs at the loss of eight wickets at the end of 40 overs.
Pankaj Senapati took two wickets at the expense of 32 runs for Juvenile.
Rameswar bowler Tofan Gouda’s superb four for 27 in the second innings mattered little as Anil Parida scored a superb century (123 not out off 108 balls) under pressure to fire his side to victory. Juvenile completed their chase in the 40th over at 222/8.
Parida was deservedly handed the Man of the Match award for his heroics.
