Bhadrak: Four persons, including a patient, sustained critical injuries after the ambulance they were travelling in overturned near Chingudi Conol Chhak on NH-16 under Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district Friday morning.
According to sources, the ambulance, which was heading towards Cuttack from Balasore carrying a patient and three others, overturned after being hit by a speeding truck from behind.
Locals rescued the injured persons and admitted them to a government-run hospital.
The driver of the truck fled from the spot soon after the accident.
Traffic movement on the national highway was disrupted following the accident.
