Bhubaneswar: Amid tight security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar International Airport at 1:00 PM.
He was given a warm welcome by Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Secretary AP Padhi, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram, State Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera, Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Jena and other leaders.
As per the scheduled itinerary, The PM will first fly to IIT Bhubaneswar in a chopper to inaugurate the new campus in Aragul built at a cost of Rs 1,660 crore, and then would lay foundation stone for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and unveil projects worth Rs 14,523 crore. These include laying foundation stones for Indian Oil’s Paradip-Hyderabad product pipeline project and GAIL’s Bokaro-Angul Pipeline project.
The total expenditure for the Paradip-Hyderabad pipeline project is estimated to be around Rs 3,338 crore, while Bokaro pipeline estimated at a projected cost of 3,437 crore under the Urja Ganga Yojana.
PM Modi will also break ground for six laning of Chandikhole-Bhadrak section of National Highway-5 (new NH-16), Khandagiri flyover, four laning of Cuttack-Angul section of NH-42 and 6/4 laning of Tangi-Puintola of NH-5.
This apart, he will inaugurate the Baxi Jagabandhu research laboratory in Utkal University.
Besides, he will inaugurate a new 100-bed upgraded ward of the ESI Hospital in Bhubaneswar. He will also inaugurate an archaeological museum at Lalitgiri. He will also issue Paika Rebellion commemorative stamp and coin.
At 2:25 pm, he is scheduled to depart the venue and travel by road to NISER Stadium in Khordha where he will address a public meeting at 2:30 pm till 3:15 pm. Soon after the meeting, he will tentatively depart for Bhubaneswar Airport from where he will leave for Delhi by 4 pm.
