Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, over a hundred students left the Bayapandadhar Ashram School under Bansapal block in Keonjhar district for fear of ghosts.
Reports said 204 students study and reside in the residential school. Thursday, a girl student behaved unusually and all other students were scared. The girl was said to have been ‘possessed’ and she narrated suicide of a girl that had taken place in 2012.
The student was admitted to the district headquarters hospital Thursday. She also behaved similarly at the hospital Friday. Panicked guardians took their wards home amidst tension in the school.
District welfare officer Pradyumna Kumar Das said the girl student was treated. “As guardians were influenced by blind faith and insisted on taking their wards, we allowed them. We tried to convince them, but they did not listen,” he explained.
