Pramod Bhagat’s ‘dream comes true’ as he meets Sachin Tendulkar

Bhubaneswar: Tokyo Paralympic 2020 champion Pramod Bhagat met former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar Wednesday. He had shared some pictures on his Instagram handle and wrote, “CHILDHOOD DREAM COMES TRUE!”.

Shuttler Pramod Bhagat won the gold medal by defeating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain 2-0 in the men’s singles SL3 – final match at the recently concluded Tokyo Paralympics.

While sharing pictures he wrote, “I can’t believe how happy I am today. As a kid, I took inspiration from Sir @sachintendulkar for always being positive and motivated. I always imagined that I would get a chance one day to meet you. I also wished that day should come post the biggest achievement of my life and God aligned all the stars for me.”

“I won the Paralympics Gold🥇 The joy of medal hadn’t even settled that I got a chance to meet you. I was falling short of words at start as I couldn’t believe I was sitting next to you. Your kindness is heart touching. The words you spoke to me will stay with me forever and will keep inspiring me for life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️. I will be sleepless tonight,” he wrote on Instagram.

During the meet, Sachin Tendulkar also gave him an autograph on his jersey and wrote ‘You have made the whole country proud. Our best wishes are always with you.”

Both Pramod and Sachin were seen posing with the jersey.

it may be mentioned here that the Odisha Government has announced a cash award of Rs 6 crore and Group-A level government job for Bhagat.

In Tokyo Paralympics 2020, Indian players bagged 19 medals.
