Bhubaneswar: This year the gap between Diwali and Durga Puja festivals is very little, resulting in festivities going on throughout the month of October. The market had prepared well for this and had started for the pre-Diwali marketing to attract the audience. In capital city Tuesday two big exhibitions opened up, which will give a chance to residents of the city to make their Diwali purchases.

These exhibitions are held at Mayfair Lagoon and Exhibition ground in the city. The first exhibition has been organised by Lions Club Cuttack Velvet and Pearl. In the two day exhibition customers will get an exclusive collection of designer sarees and dresses, kids wear, diamond and costume jewellery, crockery, home décor and furnishing items etc.  More than thirty stalls by different fashion designers have been put up here, where designers from Delhi, Kolkata, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar were presenting their collections, informed Renu Garg President of Lion Club Cuttack Velvet and Pearl.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Ministers Chandra Sarathi Behera, Sashibushan Behera and Pratap Jena, Bhubaneswar North MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debasish Samantray. People will get every type of fashionable dresses in this exhibition at preferred range, said Garg.

Lion Club Cuttack Velbet & Cuttack Parlour Milita Anukulya re Dipabali Upalakhye 2days  Exhibition at Mayfir Hotel (18)Kavita Gupta, a jewellery designer from Kolkata, who presented handmade copper jewellery in the exhibition, said that the jewelleries are in price range of Rs 250 to Rs 9000. We are offering discount as well. Apart from this the traditional and heavy jewelries, especially the earrings and neck pieces are the eye catching with special designs.

Deepa Vora, fashion designer of Cuttack, informed that this time we are offering variety of different sarees in silk, cotton and of different designs. Apart from designer dresses and jewellery the other things that attracts the eyes of the people are the Diwali decorations that include lightings, designer diyas and other related things.

President of Boyanika Sesha Kumar Meher at the handloom exhibition organised by KASHFAB at Exhibition ground TuesdayIn another exhibition, organised by KASHFAB at the exhibition, more than 13 states of northern India are participating with their handloom artisans. The exhibition has been organised by Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Fabrics Marketing Co-operative society Ltd, popularly known as KASHFAB. The purpose and objective of the exhibition was to showcase the handloom products of the northern states of India such as Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kashmir etc.

Saqib Wani, marketing head of KASHFAB, said that more than 74 stalls have been put up here, showcasing a large number of handloom products. He added that this year we have brought new designs of shawls from Delhi and Kashmir, blankets from Rajasthan, wool products from Punjab. The special attraction this year is Danz Dar shawls from Kashmir. These shawls are prepared in fifteen days. We are offering more than 20 percent special rebate on purchase he added. The exhibition will continue up to October 22.
