Sajnagad: A pregnant woman allegedly died after ambulance failed to turn up in time at Kansa village under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district late Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Basanti, wife of Sanjay Nayak.
According to reports, Basanti complained of labour pain around 3 pm Saturday following which Sanjay called for 102 and 108 ambulance service. However, no ambulance arrived till 10 pm. Later a 102 ambulance reached the village.
When the ambulance was taking the expectant mother to hospital, she died on the way.
Family members of the deceased woman have alleged that delay in ambulance arrival led to her death.
