Padmapur: Police Friday launched a manhunt to nab a prisoner who escaped from the sub-jail here in Bargarh district Thursday noon.
The escaped prisoner has been identified as Jethu Bag (40) of Jhankarpali village under Melchhamunda police limits.
Bag scaled the jail wall to escape at about 12 pm. He had been serving jail terms as a convict in a murder case.
IIC K Priyanka Routray said a manhunt has been launched and the escaped prisoner would soon be nabbed.
