Bhubaneswar: Orissa boxer Arijit Mohapatra won gold in the 91+ super heavyweight category of the 46th Junior Men’s National Boxing Championships at Chennai, Wednesday. In the final bout, Arijit of Koraput defeated Vonanad of Meghalaya in a close 3-2 decision to emerge champion.
Orissa enter semis
Orissa rode on a brilliant all-round show by Pankaj Bhue (72 runs, five wickets) to enter the semifinals of the National Cricket Tournament for the Visually-Impaired after thrashing Uttar Pradesh by eight wickets in their last group encounter at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
Opting to bat first UP were bundled out for 139 in 32.5 overs. In reply Orissa reached the winning target in 27 overs for the loss of only two wickets.
