Cuttack, April 30: Rameswar Sporting registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Jagruti Sporting to enter the quarterfinals of the Sumit Bose Memorial U-16 cricket tournament at the SCB Medical Ground here Thursday.
Opting to bat first, Jagruti were bowled out for 93 in 39 overs with only Chitta Ranjan Patra (16, 58b) reaching the double digits. Chirag Das (2/16), Simrit Samantray (2/17), Biswajeet Mallick (2/14) and Rajesh Mohanty (2/25) bowled well in tandem to demolish Jagruti’s batting order.
In reply, Rameswar overhauled the total easily in 18 overs for the loss of three wickets. Sisir Behera (40, 30b, 5×4) led the run chase with a cameo and was adjudged the man of the match. Sarthak Samantray (3/25) bowled well for Jagruti.
