Paralakhemundi: Thanks to haphazard parking by public transport buses as well as private vehicles, traffic management at Satamile Chhak under Gosani block of Gajapati district has been badly affected.
Hundreds of buses and public transport vehicles move to Rayagada, R Udayagiri, Berhampur and various villages in Ghosani block via Satamile Chaak which is known as the busiest road of the area.
Similarly, a number of private and public vehicles carry tourists and picnickers to Gandahati tourism place via this road.
However, the traffic hurdles arise and the buses park heavy vehicles at will. In order to get passengers to board buses, they park the vehicles for longer time, adding to the traffic mess.
On the other hand, illegal encroachments of the road by the street vendors has made the road narrow, following which commuters were seen standing in large squeue to pass Satamiole Chhak.
When contacted, Gurandi IIC P Shaym Sunder Rao said police personnel would be deployed at Satamile Chhak soon for smooth management of the traffic there.
Meanwhile, locals have demanded that the local administration take actions for smooth functioning of the traffic.
