BHUBANESWAR: A musical event was organised by Murchhana on its 15th Annual function held at Soochana Bhawan here Tuesday.
MP Pratap Kumar Kesahri and Additional Secretary, Department of Administration General and Public Grievances Dilip Routray were invited as the chief guests of the function. They lit the ceremonial lamp and inaugurated the event. They also felicitated music director Arun Mohanty with Murchhana Sangeetkar Samman and Life Time Achievement award for his contributions to Odia music and lyricist Sachi Mohanty with Murchhana Geetkar Samman.
The annual magazine of Murchhana Gunjan was also unveiled by the Chief Guests. Srikant Das, Debasish Mohapatra among others presented an old Odia song at this event.
Organiser Ajay Mohanty said that the purpose of organising this event is to promote Odia music and revive the love for old songs among music lovers.
