Rourkela: In a tragic incident of road mishap, a two-year-old boy was run over by a speeding car Wednesday night at Labour Tenament under Raghunathpali police limits in Sundargarh district.

The minor died on the way to a nearby hospital, police sources informed.
However, tensions ran high following the death of the minor boy.
According to police sources, the road accident took place when some children were playing near a slum here. The speeding car hit the boy and fled the spot soon after committing the crime.
The injured was immediately rushed to hospital in critical condition where doctor declared him brought dead.
The locals staged a road blockade demanding immediate arrest of the culprit and grant of compensation to the bereaved family.
Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe. Body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem.
