Bamra: The Jharsuguda Railway Protection Force (RPF) has recently allowed a wood-laden tractor escape the arms of law.
Locals said a huge tree in the railway colony was illegally cut down two days ago. While the logs were being loaded, RPF personnel came in. After some discussions with the loaders, the vehicle was allowed to take away the wood. A businessman of the station basti area illegally cut the tree, which stood at the railway colony attached to the Bamra railway station that falls under the Jharsuguda RPF.
Locals question why the RPF allowed this happen and why no case was registered.
When contacted for comment, RPF station officer LK Das admitted that the felling of the tree was illegal. Though no case was registered, an investigation was on, he said.
