Rs 943.35 cr sought for central schemes

Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: The SC/ST development department has proposed an outlay of `Rs 943.35 crore for implementation of central sponsored schemes in the state for the 2015-16 financial year.
The proposed outlay is around `Rs 40 crore higher than the provision for the last annual budget.
Out of the `Rs 943.35 crore, the department has proposed an outlay of  Rs 909 crore under central share and `34.35 crore under the state share.
As much as `Rs 220 crore has been proposed under special central assistance to Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) under state plan, with the aim of augmenting the income of tribal people through different income generating programmes, The allocation for this in the last fiscal was `Rs 200 crore.
The department sought `Rs 170.55 crore under the state plan towards infrastructure development in TSP areas under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution, for which the figure was `Rs 155 crore in the last fiscal.
Under the multi sectoral development programme for minorities scheme, the proposed outlay was `Rs 35.42 crore and for implementation of the centrally sponsored scheme for the development of scheduled cast, the department sought `244 crore against last year’s provision of `RSs253.98 crore.
Similarly, under the scheme for development of OBC, DNT and small nomadic tribes, and the scheme for development of economically backward classes, as well as the umbrella scheme for education of ST students, the state has proposed a budget outlay of `36.57 crore, `Rs 20 lakh and `Rs 235.55 crore, respectively. The department has also sought `1 crore for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY).
