Puri: A special committee of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Friday checked ornaments and other valuables stored at the Mahalaxmi temple on Srimandir premises.
Sources said all ornaments of the goddess have been kept inside a sealed cupboard.
The SJTA team comprising administrator Saroj Ray, ritual supervisor Rabindra Das, finance officer Kishore Pradhan, Srimandir supervisor Ramchandra Pratihari and temple goldsmith Hari Mahapatra began checking ornaments at Mahalaxmi temple at noon.
“We have kept all the ornaments of Goddess Mahalaxmi in a sealed cupboard. The Srimandir administration will soon shift the ornaments to its storeroom,” said a SJTA official.
Notably, the SJTA had decided to manage the day-to-day affairs of the Mahalaxmi temple in the next few days. Up to now, the SJTA did not have administrative control over the Mahalaxmi temple.
