Bhubaneswar, Sept 1: In the group-C league match of the MCL Cup Inter School Football Tournament, SAI International School rode on the hat-tricks of Abhisek Mohapatra and Dipankar Marandi to drub Satyabhamapur 6-0 and enter the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament which is being played at the Unit-VI High School ground here Tuesday.
Abhisek struck in the first, 26th and 38th minutes respectively. While Dipankar netted three goals in the 5th, 10th and 33rd minutes respectively. Satyajit Mishra gave away the man of the match award to Dipankar.
In a group-B league match, Pratyus Swain of the St. Xavier’s Kedargouri School scored a treble as his team thumped Unit-VI High School by a 5-0 margin.
Pratyus found the back of the net in the 3rd, 4th and 15th minutes respectively. Subham Mohapatra and Subham Sahu scored the other two goals in the 27th and 33rd minutes respectively. Pratyus won the man of the match award for his sterling performance.
Sepak Takraw tourney
State Sepak Takraw Association will host the 6th Kalinga Ashoka Sepak Takraw Federation Cup. It will be organised at Rourkela by Rourkela Sepak Takraw Association in association with Panposh Sports Association from October 2 to 4. The best eight teams, both men and women will participate in the Federation Cup consisting of many international players.
