Cuttack: A video of unidentified youths openly brandishing firearms and sharp-edged weapons has triggered shock and panic among Cuttack residents after the video went viral on social media.

The youths can be seen brandishing pistols and swords in public places. The video has now taken social media on storm.

The incident comes close on the heels of the notorious KBN gang in Bhubaneswar throwing open challenge to Twin City Commissionerate Police. The purported videos were filmed near Taladanda Canal area in which the youngsters are also seen shouting using filthy languages.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police-Cuttack has initiated a probe into the matter. The self-styled gang has named itself as ‘Sandha’. The gang has allegedly posted 10 short videos on social media.

The short videos were shot at an under-construction building and riverside near Jobra area, which were initially posted on Instagram. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the gang members.

The mastermind of ‘Sandha’ gang was previously lodged in police custody, a senior official informed.

It is pertinent to mention, following surrender of two members Chenga and Sania of the notorious ‘Koi Bhai Nahi’ (KBN) gang before a local court, the Commissionerate Police Wednesday raided house of the mastermind of KBN at Gandamunda locality in Bhubaneswar.

A special team conducted raid at the mastermind Bubu Jena’s house. “The videos of KBN gang were shot on different days and uploaded on Instagram. Probe was carried out on the basis of the viral videos,” Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash said at a presser.

A fresh video of the KBN gang has gone viral on social media. Some members of the notorious gang are seen, in the purported video, partying on a luxurious car by parking it on the middle of a national highway in the state capital.

Police have so far arrested as many as nine members of the gang including Chenga and Sania. Police had earlier bulldozed the house of Chenga after getting a tip-off that a number of firearms were allegedly stored in it. The gang has around 29 members.

The police intensified its action after registering cases against the KBN members when shocking visuals of the teenagers creating nuisances on roads by brandishing guns and other weapons while consuming alcohol and other contrabands created havoc.
