Bhubaneswar: Senior IPS officer Sanjeeb Panda Monday officially took charge as the new Police Commissioner for the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The outgoing Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi performed the handover ceremony by passing the baton to Panda.
Expressing his thoughts during a media interaction Sanjeeb Panda, stated, “Today, I have assumed charge and hope that people will extend support to the police to discharge its duties more efficiently.” He acknowledged the immediate challenge of the upcoming general elections. He assured focused efforts to implement the state government’s 5T and Mo Sarkar initiatives, aiming for enhanced police services closer to the people.
Panda outlined his priorities, emphasising that, in addition to maintaining law and order and addressing cybercrime, special attention would be given to protecting vulnerable sections of society, including women and children.
The outgoing Police Commissioner, Saumendra Priyadarshi, reflected on his nearly three-year tenure, expressing satisfaction and extending best wishes to Panda for his new role.
