Satrujeet powers SSC into quarters

Bhubaneswar: Subham Satrujeet’s (88, 45b) brilliant half century powered Saheed Sporting Club (SSC) to a comprehensive five-wicket victory against Pragati Sporting Club (PSC) and qualify for the quarterfinals in a Pool B game of the IInd Rameswar Cup cricket tournament here, Saturday.

Sent into bat first, PSC were bowled out for 165 runs in 29.1 overs as they could not handle the bowling skills of Sandeep Chauhan (3/23) and Ansh Malik (3/25) who picked up wickets on a consistent basis. Only Soumya Sourav Kumar (51, 57b) and Subham Kumar (31, 39b) could offer some resistance with the bat.

Chasing, 166 runs for victory, the SSC batters played some excellent cricket with Subham leading the charge. He played some beautiful shots all round the park and never allowed any PSC bowler to dominate. Manas Ranjan Nayak (30, 37b) also gave a good support to Subham. Biswajit Mohanty (2/24) was the lone standout bowler for PSC.
