‘Sayonee’s’ only romantic song out; 2 boys from Odisha make their presence felt

Mumbai: Hindi film action thriller Sayonee is set to have a theatrical release December 18. The only romantic track of the film is titled Mohabbat Ajnabee. The song was sung by Bekhayali singer Sachet Tandon while the female rendition has been done by Sukriti Kakar. The music video stars Tanmay Ssingh and Muskaan Sethi.

However, for movie lovers in Odisha, the song will have a special meaning as two boys from Odisha are attached. They are Saugato Roy Choudhury (music production manager) and Anurag Mohapatra (vocals).

Incidentally Anurag was the only Odia singer who was praised highly by music legend AR Rahman in the YouTube show ‘ARRived’. It was show where along with Rahman, Shaan, Clinton Cerejo and Vidya Vox were present as judges to pick up India’s next singing superstar.

Saugato is also associated with other music albums and also curates music for videos and movies. He has also worked as RJ.

According to the report, the making of the song is a unique story in itself. Two years back, the work for the movie and ‘Mohabbat Ajnabee’ had started. Male lead of the movie Tanmay brought composer Rangon Chatterjee, and team on board to create the romantic number. Rangon has also done songs like Phir Mulaaqat (Why Cheat India) Toote Khwab.

But by the time lyrics and tune came from lyricist Sohail Haider, few shots of the song had already been shot at Ukraine. So the team decided to create the song afresh keeping all the polishing work in mind.
