New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear a review petition filed by the state government seeking re-consideration of the apex court’s September 28 order upholding Orissa High Court order on reservation of seats in urban local bodies (ULBs).
A two-judge bench of Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul will hear the review petition in their chamber Tuesday.
Earlier, the SC had dismissed the petition of the state government challenging the High Court’s September 28 order. The SC had observed that the reservation of seats cannot exceed 50 per cent in the ULBs.
