Cuttack: A pregnant woman and her relatives were allegedly were meted with bad behaviour by a doctor on duty at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
According to reports, the pregnant woman from Banki area was admitted to SCB after she developed labour pain Wednesday night. However, no doctor attended the patient for long. When her relatives tried to seek urgent medical assistance from the doctor, he allegedly ill-treated them.
Moreover, the concerned doctor also reportedly removed a saline that was earlier administered to the woman.
Irate over such ‘inhuman’ treatment, the family members then shifted the woman to a private hospital.
“We tried to contact the doctor, he pushed me and also removed the saline that was being administered to my daughter-in-law,” said Bilasa, an attendant.
The authorities of SCB Medical College and Hospital could not be contacted over the matter.
