Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the statewide bandh called by the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday, the state government Tuesday announced closure of all schools and colleges Wednesday.
The decision was taken to ensure safety and security of students, the CMO office said Tuesday. The government has also asked the institutions to postpone their examinations, if any. Meanwhile, the Utkal University postponed the first semester (regular and back papers) of under graduate courses to January 25.
The exam was scheduled to be held Wednesday, sources said. The opposition has called the bandh protesting the suicide of the Kunduli gangrape victim Monday.
