Angul: A security guard was providing health services to patient at Angul district headquarters hospital (DHH), Thursday. Video showing the man while performing such act went viral on social media.
In the video, the security guard was seen administering injection to patient at the government-run health facility. As the male patient was in utter distress, the security guard came forward and provided service despite the presence of doctors and nurses, a source said.
On being contacted for views, Angul additional district medical officer (ADMO) Manas Ranjan Biswal said, “I will only be able to comment anything on the incident after a thorough probe into the matter.”

In a similar incident, another security guard was earlier seen checking blood pressure of a woman patient who was lying on bed at Hinjili government hospital in Ganjam district August 18, this year.
The patient was from Tankachhai village under Hinjili subdivision and was admitted to hospital after the woman fell sick August 16.
Notably, Odisha government had asked the authorities at major state-run hospitals August 19 to ensure that non-health personnel are not allowed to attend patients admitted to hospitals at any cost.
