Security guard murder: Owner of marble factory detained, cousin fled

Bhubaneswar: Police has detained the owner of the marble factory where a security guard was found dead late Wednesday night. The owner was detained on the basis of the blood soaked note found a note from the shirt pocket of the deceased, allegedly written by him.
Notably, the guard identified as Gadadhar Swain of Cuttack was found in a pool of blood with his throat slit Thursday morning. The investigating sleuths have been probing into various leads that came to light during the course of investigation.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Satyajit Mohanty told Orissa POST, “Deceased Swain has written in the note that the owner and his cousin who was also working at the same factory were responsible for his taking the extreme step. He also mentioned the number of one of them on the note. The alleged cousin of the owner has been absconding since the death of Swain. A police team that went to the native village of owner’s cousin Friday returned empty handed.”
Swain has been employed at the factory by a private security agency around six months back. However, the owner was not happy with him reportedly due to the sleeping habits of Swain during shifts. The owner had also informed the private security agency about his behavior. He was allegedly removed by his previous employer too due to the same reasons. The security agency has also warned him in this regard, adds Commissioner Mohanty.
Another thing that has been going against the murder claim is that the body of the deceased was recovered after breaking the door which was locked from inside. However, the severity of the cut marks found on his throat and body has been puzzling the investigating officers.
The Commissioner refused to jump to any conclusions before getting the final autopsy report in the matter. Mohanty said, “We are expecting the post-mortem report Saturday and we would take the final call after examining it thoroughly.”
