Berhampur: Rajesh Kumar Panda, a Plus II Science student of a private residential college, who self-immolated fearing failure in the exam, just a day before the declaration of the CHSE results, has passed securing 302 out of 600 marks (50.3%), reports said.
The incident has stunned everyone in the family and his college. When the results were out Saturday, sympathy has started pouring in for the boy.
Reports said, he had failed to crack the examination twice. Little did he know that he was going to pass the exam in second division. Fearing failure for a third time in a row, the boy ended his life by immolating himself Friday. He doused himself with kerosene and self-immolated in the absence of family members.
This incident occurred at Gayatri Nagar under Bada Bazaar Police limits in the city.
