Bhubaneswar: The Krgyz woman who was rescued March 23 during a police raid on an apartment in Shree Vihar where a sex racket was allegedly being run, was rushed to the Capital Hospital Sunday when her condition deteriorated.
The woman, who was brought to the hospital by two staff members of Ruchika Foundation, a short-stay home where she was sent when she was rescued, was also escorted by two policewomen. She was admitted at 11 am and put on glucose and was discharged by 7 pm.
“The woman would have felt weak as she probably had not eaten since morning,” said doctor Biswajit Mohanty who said her condition was normal.
The Ruchika Foundation staff members said she has not been eating properly since she was brought to the centre.
Meanwhile, Swarup Mohanty, the flat owner of the 6th Avenue apartment, where the sex racket was allegedly being run, told Chandrasekharpur police that he had only seen Somesh Panda’s identity card before renting out the apartment to the latter and had not entered into a rental agreement with him.
