Deogarh: An elderly man was killed Wednesday after an elephant attacked him in a forest area under the Palsama section of the Reamal Forest Range in Deogarh district.
The deceased, Hrudananda Behera, 62, a resident of Utunia village, had gone to the forest to collect leaves for his cattle when the elephant trampled him.
The incident occurred near the village, and Behera died on the spot. Forest officials, alerted by villagers, reached the scene to investigate the incident.
