Mahakalapara: A sharecropper’s son of Nantar village in Gangadharpur Sasan under this block in Kendrapara district has proved all naysayers wrong by achieving success in all India National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
The wonder boy was identified as Trinath Mishra (18), the younger of the two sons of Sukanti and Bhramarbar Mishra, a sharecropper in the village. He has scored 4017 rank in all India NEET and become eligible for admission into medical education.
His persistence and determination have yielded results. The poverty of his father did not come his way in pursuing his desired goal as the former spent all the money earned from cultivating a temple’s land on his studies to see him becoming a doctor.
Apart from cultivating one acre land of the village deity Bhramarbar also works as a part time cook in various celebrations and social functions.
When contacted, Trinath with a choked voice said he is committed to serving the poor and the needy after becoming a doctor.
Trinath attributed his success to his parents, his high school teacher Adikanda Sahu and the teachers of his coaching centre.
He, however, is stuck in a dilemma as regards arranging money for medical education as his father has very little to spare for him.
Trinath first tasted success after he passed matriculation examinations from Sri Sri Chandrasekhar High School at Nantar village by scoring 83 per cent in 2014.
Later, he went on to study Plus Two Science from Kendrapara (Autonomous) College and passed the examinations by again scoring 83 per cent. His results propelled him to aim for big as he enrolled in a medical exam coaching centre in Bhubaneswar.
Trinath studied for six to eight hours a day and was confident of clearing the medical entrance examination. His elder brother Lokanath after completing Plus Three Science from Kendrapara (Autonomous) College is preparing for post-graduation. PNN
