Shocking video

Incidents of human-animal conflict, including snake bites, are frequently reported during the rainy season. Doctors say if patients receive timely treatment after being bitten by poisonous snakes, their lives can often be saved. However, even the slightest negligence in such cases can prove fatal.

A shocking case emerged from Sitamarhi in Bihar, where a woman was allegedly bitten by a cobra. Instead of rushing her to a hospital, villagers allegedly resorted to exorcism and superstition. As a result, the woman died.

The video of the incident was shared on X by the handle @Shailendra22228 with the caption: “Filmy superstition took a life. A woman was bitten by a cobra snake in Bihar. Instead of taking her to the hospital, people started treating her through exorcism. A man kept getting the snake to bite repeatedly with the help of a stick, believing it would suck the poison out. The cobra kept biting each time, something shown only in films.”

The viral video shows the woman lying on the ground as several people gather around her to perform exorcism rituals. A man is seen holding the snake with a stick and placing it near the woman, appearing convinced the reptile would suck out the poison from her body.

Health experts warn that in snake bite cases, patients must not panic, and immediate medical attention is critical. The victim should be kept calm, and unnecessary movement should be avoided to prevent poison from spreading rapidly through the body. The affected area should be gently washed with soap and water before the victim is taken to the nearest hospital or health center without delay.
