Jakarta: Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying has proved to be a nemesis for both PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal in the recent past. However, Sindhu who will face Tai in the women’s singles final, Tuesday said Monday that she will have a ‘strategy in place’ for her rival. “It should be a good match, I have planned a strategy,” said Sindhu.
Overall, the Taipei player has a 9-3 record against Sindhu and has not lost in their last five encounters. Sindhu’s last win against Tai came at the Rio Olympics, two years ago.

In her semifinal encounter, Sindhu overcame a shaky start to beat Akane Yamaguchi. The 23-year-old Indian said she never doubted herself.
“I never thought negative for a moment. I was always thinking about improving with each match. It is a big competition and there are no easy matches. Hope to go all the way tomorrow,” Sindhu stated.
Saina meanwhile said Tai’s repertoire of shots and the ability to not restrict her game to a set pattern makes the World No.1 a very difficult player to beat at the moment.
“Most players have set pattern but she has got a variety of shots,” Saina said. “She will always come up with some new shots that make it so difficult for anyone to beat her. She is someone who is not easy to read.”
Saina said she is pleased to have won her maiden Asian Games medal in her third attempt. “I am happy, because this tournament is as good as Olympics, just that we do not have Carolina (Marin) here,” Saina pointed out.
