Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: The state government Friday decided to open a single window system to help women farmers, women migrant labourers and victims of domestic violence under the ‘Orissa State Policy for Girls and Women – 2014.’
The government also planned to set up single window system to address the problem of women migrant labourers and another single window system in hospital for women who became victims of domestic violence.
The decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. As per the decision at the meeting, a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary will be formed in January to monitor the progress of the implementation of the policy and the task force would submit its first half yearly status report in April next.
Special programmes would be made in the policy for women and child development, health and family welfare, school and mass education, higher education, agriculture, labour, revenue, panchayati raj and employment and technical education departments. Provision would be included in the policy to reward women for their remarkable success in their respective fields and meeting of the women would be held in gram panchayat level.
